HOME DECOR

CHANGE OF SPACE //

I have currently been living in my apartment for almost a year! Seriously where does the time go!! I remember how excited I was to move in and have my own space for the first time. Now that I have been living in my studio for almost a year, I have realized how nice it is to have a change of space. My lease is over next month - one day when I was browsing the web I started looking at other options. Never realizing how nice it would be to change up my environment if I had the opportunity. Don't get me wrong, I am so grateful and in love with my apartment. Although after a year, this 400 sq ft space has me feeling a little cramped... I am just looking to grow a little! So I am super excited to start looking for a 1 bedroom apartment in the city! Yayyy my own bedroom again!

NEW PLACE, NEW DECOR //
To say I am only moving for more space is true, but I have also been lacking inspiration in my current set up. I need to decorate and create a space that inspires me each day. Right now I feel boring and blah.
Here are a few of my ideas for my new space! xx

LAGUNA BEACH + WHAT I WORE

WHAT I WORE
top, lulus / denim, topshop / shoes, lulus / backpack, nordstrom / sunnies, rayban

THE ADVENTURE
Laguna Beach
I feel in love.
This was one of my favourite places in California, and not because I grew up obsessing over the show but because it truly is beautiful. It seems like such a cute relaxed town compared to the big city I live in. I loved all the shops, the farmers market and of course the beautiful beach. If you are traveling to the west coast you NEED to drive up to Laguna, it will be so worth it. I wish I had stayed in this area longer because I already want to go back. Although it was kind of a cool day with lots of wind I still tipped my toes in the water and covered them in sand. I dressed for the cool weather not really for the beach so I may have looked a little out of place but I can't wait to go back on a hot summer day with shorts and sandals!
We ate fish and chips on the beach at a cute little cafe & checked out all of the shops surrounding. Living on the hills off Ocean Ave is actual goals.
(ps. we obviously sang Ocean Avenue by Yellowcard as we walked down the street)

TRAVEL DIARY - CALIFORNIA

BEFORE I GO..

n-eocali:

NEO C A L I

This month is one of the most exciting months I have ever had. So much is going on with life & school. I am officially done school on the 22nd and leave for California on the 29th. How perfect is that!? I have been crazy about California for about 6 years now. When times were really rough in my life, I always wanted to run away to California, I thought it would be the perfect escape. Now I am finally doing it, the right way. I will be there for 2 weeks; staying in Newport Coast, Santa Monica, West Hollywood & Beverly Hills, while traveling all around!

My list is pretty full of all the things I have planned, as you can only imagine.
I am looking for new places to try, favourite areas so if you live there or you have traveled their than please let me know what your favourite places and things to do are! I imagine my days will be filled by the beach, cafes, and the typical tourist stuff. But I am currently spending all my time online shopping rather than studying..

What are your favourite online stores!? I've began to hate the mall and It's still too cold to shop the streets of Queen St West or Bloor St West, so I spend my time browsing the web for the cutest and affordable clothing boutiques, anyone else thing there has been an online take over?!

26 DAYS.

Lets go on this adventure together!
I will be Vlogging on my Youtube Channel so don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss out!

FITNESS

Getting fit & Looking Good
I have always enjoyed exercising and yoga but this year Ive decided to put together a set workout schedule, I go 3-4 times a week, giving myself a couple of rest days. Now I'm not working out because I need to lose a lot of weight, even though a few pounds never hurts! I am beginning to get more serious for mental health and feeling good.

I am a type A, who gets stressed over everything so trying to exercise more and step into a new environment has really began to help. I am super fortunate that I have a gym in my building for easy access. Since I am a student, paying for a gym membership is not a top priority. You don't need a gym in order to de-stress, I always did yoga in my room before I had any access to a gym. Even the little things such as going for a walk or run can really help. I also choose to take the stairs at school or work, for some extra booty help. Taking the stairs and walking is something I am custom too, living in downtown Toronto. Without a car, I walk everywhere which really helps as well.

Motivation
To help me stay motivated I write down my gym schedule weeks in advance, so when I'm planning around my day, its already there. Once I'm finished at the gym, I come home and check it off. Checking items off my list is so rewarding for me, it makes me feel accomplished, stress free and organized.

Workout Wear
Honestly, Sporty Spice was always my favourite growing up. 2016 is the year for sport chic, and I totally dig it. I am obsessed with sneakers, patterned leggings & making workout wear work as an outfit. Kendall Jenner is killing the game with the best workout outfits right now & it keeps me so inspired. So if you aren't into working out, who cares just rock some workout gear & no one will ever know.

Here are some items on my workout wish list right now!

Holiday Baking

CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN: 8 DAYS

Hello Lovelies, I can't believe how fast december has gone by. I have finally finished finals & it is safe to say I have not done anything today, I am even still in my sweats. Nothing wrong with that right!? I recently made shortbread cookies to get into the festive spirit! I will link the video here so you all can watch the mess I made. I did freeze half the dough, so since it was the first day of holidays I decide to make the rest adding some extra ingredients!
Since I am a student I don't yet have all the baking essentails that my mom would have on hand. So I made use of the items I had at home to create these cookies. To roll out the dough I used an empty wine bottle and It did the trick perfectly. I also used a mason jar lid to cut out the circles.
These Candy Cane Shortbread Cookies are super easy & student friendly!
