LAGUNA BEACH + WHAT I WORE

WHAT I WORE
top, lulus / denim, topshop / shoes, lulus / backpack, nordstrom / sunnies, rayban

THE ADVENTURE
Laguna Beach
I feel in love.
This was one of my favourite places in California, and not because I grew up obsessing over the show but because it truly is beautiful. It seems like such a cute relaxed town compared to the big city I live in. I loved all the shops, the farmers market and of course the beautiful beach. If you are traveling to the west coast you NEED to drive up to Laguna, it will be so worth it. I wish I had stayed in this area longer because I already want to go back. Although it was kind of a cool day with lots of wind I still tipped my toes in the water and covered them in sand. I dressed for the cool weather not really for the beach so I may have looked a little out of place but I can't wait to go back on a hot summer day with shorts and sandals!
We ate fish and chips on the beach at a cute little cafe & checked out all of the shops surrounding. Living on the hills off Ocean Ave is actual goals.
(ps. we obviously sang Ocean Avenue by Yellowcard as we walked down the street)

FITNESS

Getting fit & Looking Good
I have always enjoyed exercising and yoga but this year Ive decided to put together a set workout schedule, I go 3-4 times a week, giving myself a couple of rest days. Now I'm not working out because I need to lose a lot of weight, even though a few pounds never hurts! I am beginning to get more serious for mental health and feeling good.

I am a type A, who gets stressed over everything so trying to exercise more and step into a new environment has really began to help. I am super fortunate that I have a gym in my building for easy access. Since I am a student, paying for a gym membership is not a top priority. You don't need a gym in order to de-stress, I always did yoga in my room before I had any access to a gym. Even the little things such as going for a walk or run can really help. I also choose to take the stairs at school or work, for some extra booty help. Taking the stairs and walking is something I am custom too, living in downtown Toronto. Without a car, I walk everywhere which really helps as well.

Motivation
To help me stay motivated I write down my gym schedule weeks in advance, so when I'm planning around my day, its already there. Once I'm finished at the gym, I come home and check it off. Checking items off my list is so rewarding for me, it makes me feel accomplished, stress free and organized.

Workout Wear
Honestly, Sporty Spice was always my favourite growing up. 2016 is the year for sport chic, and I totally dig it. I am obsessed with sneakers, patterned leggings & making workout wear work as an outfit. Kendall Jenner is killing the game with the best workout outfits right now & it keeps me so inspired. So if you aren't into working out, who cares just rock some workout gear & no one will ever know.

Here are some items on my workout wish list right now!

FRINGS RESTURANT

Drake Made Me Do It.

One of my best friends surprised me with reservations at this new Toronto restaurant Frings. A collaboration made famous by Drake and Susur Lee. This place has been slammed with reservations since it opened, 8 weeks ago on King West. I am so happy I got to experience this place, it was truly incredible. Tapas styled dishes, and drake themed drinks. Also your favourite hip hop & RnB music playing the background made this night even better. The service was incredible, you truly feel like a 6 goodess. Not to mention the amazing decor, with fur wing-back chairs, and a 6 on a wave neon sign that is totally Instagram worthy. For food we tried the chicken sliders, sweet and sour meatballs, truffle fries & king prawns. Everything was delicious with unique flavours added, check out the menu to real make your mouth water!
I never wanted to leave this place, but make sure you book far in advance so you're guaranteed a spot! You don't want to miss this place & who knows you could be blessed with the 6 god himself.

Feeling Blue

I am in love with this cobalt blue colour and the 70s inspired neckline. This is one of my favourite styles at the moment. I love how nice it makes my shoulders look.. if thats even a thing!
I also love the combination of blue and white, I think its a new take on black & white.
What is your go to for the summer? I would love to know.

What I Wore

Dainty Jewellery & Comfy Clothes

Casual summer nights & after work comfy clothes! There is nothing I love more than coming home after work and putting on my comfy clothes. You don't have to look like a slump in comfy clothes. Look for joggers! Joggers are basically comfortable sweat pants that you can wear in public! I added a printed boyfriend tee to stay extra comfortable. The print adds more to the outfit, making it look even more put together for casual wear, so easy!
For my jewellery I have been mixing and match my necklaces, even mixing metals! I don't see the issue with silver and gold together, I personally like the contrast! Dainty jewellery is perfect for stacking. My name plate necklace has been a favourite of mine ever since I got it. It just goes with everything and hangs nicely on the neck. Plus I find it so hard to find anything with my name on it, ever since I was a child. I never got a key chain with my name on it, but now I have necklace that I cant stop wearing!

This website has so many designs, styles and colours to choose! I would suggest checking them out if you cant find them in stores.

What I Wore

Colour Block & Jewelled

The weather has been so up and down, I usually end up wearing 3 outfits a day.  But this week we have finally had some sunshine! Today I'm wearing this colour block & jewelweed tee that can be dressed up or down. I paired it with my basic black skort and taupe & gold sandals. I love the taupe and white combo on this shirt. It makes it so easy to dress up or down for the summer. Colour Block is always popular in the summer but if your not a fan of bright colours, find a neutral!
The jewels on the top make for an easy built in statement necklace.
I also through my hair up because I was not in the mood to style it... we all have those days right?!

Skort: Aritzia
Shoes: Guess (a few years ago)
