Holiday Baking

CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN: 8 DAYS

Hello Lovelies, I can't believe how fast december has gone by. I have finally finished finals & it is safe to say I have not done anything today, I am even still in my sweats. Nothing wrong with that right!? I recently made shortbread cookies to get into the festive spirit! I will link the video here so you all can watch the mess I made. I did freeze half the dough, so since it was the first day of holidays I decide to make the rest adding some extra ingredients!
Since I am a student I don't yet have all the baking essentails that my mom would have on hand. So I made use of the items I had at home to create these cookies. To roll out the dough I used an empty wine bottle and It did the trick perfectly. I also used a mason jar lid to cut out the circles.
These Candy Cane Shortbread Cookies are super easy & student friendly!

FRINGS RESTURANT

Drake Made Me Do It.

One of my best friends surprised me with reservations at this new Toronto restaurant Frings. A collaboration made famous by Drake and Susur Lee. This place has been slammed with reservations since it opened, 8 weeks ago on King West. I am so happy I got to experience this place, it was truly incredible. Tapas styled dishes, and drake themed drinks. Also your favourite hip hop & RnB music playing the background made this night even better. The service was incredible, you truly feel like a 6 goodess. Not to mention the amazing decor, with fur wing-back chairs, and a 6 on a wave neon sign that is totally Instagram worthy. For food we tried the chicken sliders, sweet and sour meatballs, truffle fries & king prawns. Everything was delicious with unique flavours added, check out the menu to real make your mouth water!
I never wanted to leave this place, but make sure you book far in advance so you're guaranteed a spot! You don't want to miss this place & who knows you could be blessed with the 6 god himself.

LIFE UPDATE + HALLOWEEN TUTORIAL + YOUTUBE?

Been a minute since we kicked it;

seriously though, it has been way too long since I've wrote here...
Life updates: Full time school, part time job & youtube!

I am currently studying in my last year of school which means the work load is a bit heavier and my organization is a bit weaker. I cant seem to get organized at the moment with so much going on. This is also the first time I am working during college classes. I work part time but get more hours than I am used too, so balancing both has been a challenge but I seem to be hanging on. One big reason why I have been gone from my blog as well has been because of youtube! I started a channel last year but never thought I would enjoy it as much as I do now. I recently started posting on their every week, ever since moving back to Toronto. This has definitely taken up a lot of my time, from trying to find time to film, edit while in school and working. But It makes me realized how passionate it I am about blogging, makeup, fashion and now youtube! I hope to share so much more of my life on both my blog and youtube. I want to share experiences, outfit of the days & beauty reviews plus daily vlogs. So if I am not posting on my blog its probably because I am posting on youtube, but from now on I will try and link the both together!

Also for any babes living in the Toronto are, I work at Zara on Queen West so come say hi!!

Be sure to subscribe to my channel if you have yet to already! I also post on Instagram and tweet random things on twitter so be sure to follow me there as well! That way we can always be in contact and it wont seem like I've died. Forgive me for my absence but I have a few exciting blog posts coming soon including more youtube videos! xx

                         HALLOWEEN SKULL MAKEUP
I had so much fun filming this and trying this look out! I hope you guys enjoyed it too, if you recreate it be sure to tag me so I can see how awesome you guys look! xx I hope to have a couple more Halloween videos up before the end of the month so stay tuned!

Skincare Review

Murad Blemish Control Product Review

Hello Gorgeous.
I was so lucky to have Murad send me these products to try out and review. I am usually super picky with skin care products since I am scared of breaking out so I usually stick to the same products over and over again. I am so happy I was able to test out their new Murad Blemish Control Starter Kit.
This kit features 3 products, including - Clarifying Cleanser, Blemish Clearing Solution and Oil-Control Mattifier.

As some of you may know I still suffer with problem skin and acne. A lot of it is hormonal which means products I am putting on top of my skin are not clearing it completely. This battle has been going on for years. Finally with the help of a new birth control and Acne focused products I am seeing great results for the first time in forever.

The Blemish Control Line features a range of products for treating acne. In this starter kit you are getting three sample size products. ($40 CN) Starter kits are a great way to try new products for an affordable price. Everyone's skin reacts differently to certain products so getting sample sizes allows you to try enough of the product to see if you like it or not.

De-Stress

   How I Deal With Stress

As we all know how stressful life can be, it can sometimes get the best of us. With my type A personality and anxiety I get stressed easily & often. Something I am constantly working on. Here are a few things I do when I am feeling really stressed out and they seem to help calm me down.

__________________________________________________________________________________________

Clean Space
Things I like to do so I don't become stressed is keep the area I surround myself in clean. Yes I am kind of a clean freak. When I have a clean environment my stress is way down. I hate having clutter or mess in my room it drives me nuts. So one of my favourite things to do is clean... I know I'm 100 years old - But it seriously helps! If you are not into cleaning, start your day by making your bed! When you make your bed as soon as you get up before you get ready, you will already feel accomplished. This will kick-start your day from the moment you wake up.

Make Tea - Take a Bath
These two go hand in hand. I make tea every day but I especially love drinking in the bath. Baths are probably the best thing that calm me, I take them a couple times a week, especially with a lush bath product! Which I am obsessed with. Any bath product from lush is one for my heart. I usually will put Netflix on or read a book while I'm in the bath - total relaxation. My current favourite bath bomb is Big Blue from lush; it makes me feel like I'm in the ocean!!

I am in love with this cobalt blue colour and the 70s inspired neckline. This is one of my favourite styles at the moment. I love how nice it makes my shoulders look.. if thats even a thing!
I also love the combination of blue and white, I think its a new take on black & white.

What I Wore

Dainty Jewellery & Comfy Clothes

Casual summer nights & after work comfy clothes! There is nothing I love more than coming home after work and putting on my comfy clothes. You don't have to look like a slump in comfy clothes. Look for joggers! Joggers are basically comfortable sweat pants that you can wear in public! I added a printed boyfriend tee to stay extra comfortable. The print adds more to the outfit, making it look even more put together for casual wear, so easy!
For my jewellery I have been mixing and match my necklaces, even mixing metals! I don't see the issue with silver and gold together, I personally like the contrast! Dainty jewellery is perfect for stacking. My name plate necklace has been a favourite of mine ever since I got it. It just goes with everything and hangs nicely on the neck. Plus I find it so hard to find anything with my name on it, ever since I was a child. I never got a key chain with my name on it, but now I have necklace that I cant stop wearing!

This website has so many designs, styles and colours to choose! I would suggest checking them out if you cant find them in stores.

Dairy Entry 2

Welcome back to another diary entry. Today I want to talk about the steps I am taking to grieve and accepting the past, also another event that happened in my life. In case you don't get overwhelmed or lost, check out my first diary entry before you read this one! xx

I have finally attended counseling, I am just starting out but I already feel a lot more calm about what has happened. Each day is a new stepping stone and you never know where life will take you. I think Ive learned this the hard way in some situations but I continue to grow. I have also started reading The Happiness Project. This makes me realize that some people no matter what they have gone through want to be happy and are searching to find it.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I cannot believe it has been two years since my dads passing, time has gone by so fast its scary, but I felt really good on the 2 year anniversary. I wasn't as sad as I thought I would have been which was huge for me.  I miss him every day but missing someone does not bring them back unfortunately . I felt like it was okay, and things were going to be okay. Something I found very difficult to say in the past.

Losing a loved one is probably the hardest think I have ever had to go through, but during my counseling I learned that I lost more than one person during this time. Something that has a huge impact on my life has been my mom. She is a recovering alcoholic. For about 4 years she was fighting a battle of alcoholism, which really put a strain on our relationship. My family wanted her to get the help she needed so badly but that doesn't happen over night. My dad was very caring and tried to make things seem like they were all okay. When my dad passed away things got much worse. Living with an alcoholic during this time was even more difficult than losing a loved one. I shoved all my emotions to the side because I was tired of getting hurt and tried my best to deal with this situation for my sister and myself. It was unhealthy environment me and my sister lived in, so my sister went to live with a friend for a few months until things settled down. During this time I lost two loved ones. My mom finally realized she had a problem and needed help. She then went to Rehab for months to get better. I guess I became the mom of the house during these struggling times. Although now I know how to live on my own and take care of a huge house by myself, it still felt very lonely.

Realizing this now it all makes sense. I have created a wall that is very hard to take down. I find it very hard to get close to knew people as much as I love meeting others. I also find it very hard to trust anyone else. Taking this wall down is something I need to work on every day.

In many ways I have become a stronger person through these past years and continue to grow every day. My mom has now been sober for over a year and we are all living together once again. This is such great news and I am very blessed to have a family back but the scars are still there and I am learning how to accept them and move one, which time will certainly tell.
