Valentines Day is around the corner and whether you are in a relationship or single, here are some fun date ideas here in the city. Perfect for a couple or a group of your friends. Personally I do not think you need one day a year to show someone how much you love them, so make it fun & easy going. Keep in mind these ideas are not just for one day, celebrate love every day!
1. Skate Date - Perfect at this time of year, during the day or late at night. Nathan Phillips Square or even the Harbourfront Centre which are beautiful all day long with music and lights, its the best way to spent your time outdoors.
2. Distillery District - One of my favourite places in the city, with beautiful architecture and cute cafes. The LOVE lock is a great attraction to do with your loved one. All you need is a lock to mark your initials then lock it on the sign and through away the key. How cute.
3. Dinner - The usual for valentines day but with so many restaurants in the city why not try something different? The CN Tower 360 is an over the top date night location over looking the whole city with delicious food and a spinning dinning room so you get a 360 view of the beautiful city in lights.
4. Museum - A great way to spend your day, with the ROM in Toronto you get a bit of everything! Perfect to do with a group of friends or your partner. I love going to museums because its something different, & you may only do once in a while so you might as well do it on a holiday!
5. Night In - Some of my favourites types of dates involving staying in. I love staying at home and cooking a meal together or ordering our favourite food then watch a movie! My suggestion would be to make your living room, or bedroom cozy with blankets, pillows & candles. Get together your favourite food to cook together and make it fun. Followed by a great movie and enjoy each others company. You can also do this with all your friends, girls nights & gatherings are my favourite. Especially when food & wine are involved.
I for one am looking forward to chocolate, & being with my loved one. If i didn't have him I would be celebrating this holiday with my best girl friends. Consuming to much of the obvious. (chocolate, duh)
Cheers!
